Gatsby Powdered Oil Clear Paper Review

Gatsby Powdered Oil Clear Paper in package

I bought this during one of my past trip in Baguio. Since it was ages ago (maybe just last year), I can’t recall the urgent situation that pushed me to buy a blotting paper aside from the curiosity that it’s powdered.

I want to try clean and clear blotting paper but it’s expensive and I was unsure if it is powdered. Way back high school, I bought a pink blotting paper of a brand I didn’t mind to remember. It’s thin as onion skin and smooth and almost the same as this except that it’s non-powder (and very thin). I was initially doubtful if whether it does sip the oil. It did but not entirely, and didn’t repurchase for I cannot find the point of using it before. The oil may be lesser but my face still looks oily and still tends to get oily unless I will use a loose powder. Why waste money?

Expiration Date

Since I am usually in an air-conditioned room now, I still haven’t experienced using this on my most demanding days. But just in case I will be, I’d rather use a baby powder for faster finish. In work days, my typical usage is 2 sheets or lesser of this. I usually cut a sheet into half since it's enough.

Instruction and ingredients

It have a mild powdery smell. The lighter side is where the powder is. The sheet is as thin as carbon paper. Maybe the gray color is intentional to easily see the absorbed oil. However, you have to turn it against the light to see.

Where to Buy: Watsons
Price:

Look at the two boxes and see what happens when you pick one sheet.

PROS:
-Instant powder for face
-It is more hygienic than using a loose powder with your hands.
-A sheet has enough coverage compared to a loose powder.
-It’s more handy and decent to use in special occasions like graduation and the likes.
-It can be a nice alternative for press powder.

DISLIKES:
-Even though it’s handy, it’s still quite embarrassing to use around people.
-It last like normal loose powder and it doesn’t have antiperspirant properties. You aren’t fighting it, but just preventing it for a while.
-The oil is not entirely absorbed
-There is some heavy feeling due to the left oil that hasn't been removed. There are times I even want to wash my face.

Repurchase?
No or Yes. I want to try the non-paper blotting sheets (the film/plastic types) and compare which is better.

Sansan Hydrating Color Dew Lipstick Review

Since I lost my Sophie Lipstick [Link Here], I decided to buy Sansan lipstick right away. It will took me more than a week if I ordered another Sophie and I can't bear to wait that long. That's because I usually just own 1 lipstick and don’t understand why I should stock some. I call it, being practical.

In HBC here, you won’t find samples and testers. Sometimes I wonder if they’re near bankruptcy for their store gets smaller with time. And so, I didn’t bother myself from asking the colors when I can perchance find it over the internet. I realized how wrong I am here. I should have asked the staff.

Hydrating Color Dew Lipstick 01

Over the net, I saw “Shimmer 01”. Next, I went to HBC and grab the lipstick without opening it, reach the counter and paid it. I was dismayed when I saw the color for the first time. RED. I relied with the number “01”. I didn’t know that there is a “Hydrating Color Dew” set which is a different set from “Shimmer” and maybe the regular one. Too bad the color and container is the same.

Packaging
The tube is heavy as if it’s made of metal. It looks elegant to me except that I didn’t like the tip of the lipstick; the way the angle made is too pointed.

Lipstick
There is no doubt it smells cocoa. It moisturizing on my lips and feels buttery when applied. It probably lasts for 2 hours, other than that you can feel when it’s no longer there.  It doesn’t survive a meal and I’m not actually comfortable eating with wet lips.

Perhaps it’s a sheer lipstick, it is made of partial tint that still deliver a red tone and shine to the lips. I’m still undecided whether I like or hate it. I like the way it moisturizes my lips but I have a lip gloss so I don’t really need that. Since the tint is not opaque, I can’t use it as a blush for my cheeks. Yes, I usually use a lipstick as a blush.

I believe this kind of lipstick is good enough for those who want just a minimal effect. I know some conservative people who would prefer a simple look. It is comfortable to wear during the day but will not do in cocktail hours.

My look
This lipstick doesn’t give a great contrast on my face. I still look plain, sometimes lifeless but much better than not wearing one. Nothing much has changed when I build it up. With proper lighting or powder on my face, it looks good on me. I believe it’s RED. But not the red I find objectionable. Red gives me an aura of sadness and boredom, too serious for my age. I’m not fond of Red but the sheen in this Sansan lipstick made it look wearable and fit enough with my age and face. I don’t like Red matte lipstick mostly because it doesn’t match me. This is not matte.

Repurchase?
NO. I might try a different shade until I find the shade for me and with lots of different brands there, why would I stay in one brand?

I believe a pink one will give me a more feminine look and will make me younger; a lady in bliss, simple, sweet and graceful. However, I felt I’m too trying hard with the past pink lipstick I had.

Polymer Clay in Baguio?

So far, I found none. I went to National Bookstore. Their branch in Baguio doesn’t sell polymer clay or air dry clay, only modeling clay. Baguio is a popular place yet it’s just so sad that my trip failed. The staff in the Information Desk said that I have to order through Amazon and I have to pay the shipping fee. I didn’t ask for further questions.

But I have questions in mind after,
-What is their commission if I order polymer clay through Amazon?
-Are they going to act as third party in the transaction?
-How long would it be delivered?
-Why do some branches sell polymer clay while other doesn’t?

Purchasing Oven for Polymer Clay

Finally, I purchase an electric oven for my future polymer clay projects. I did canvass for the cheapest oven with temperature control. I searched different stores in Baguio and even in our province. I also looked in Lazada but it’s above my target price

Three Ovens in my List:

3.  American Home
     Price:     P1,650+
     Where:      Baguio
I found this in a nearby mall around over pass in Baguio. American Home is a known brand and gives you this quality feeling about their products. But the size of the oven I’m eyeing was small nevertheless enough for a beginner, unless you will look for a larger one but more expensive. There is a 1 year warranty but the salesman wasn’t really assuring when he said that. There is only 1 day replacement that gave me hesitation to buy this.

2.  Brand Unremembered
     Price:     P1,600+
     Where:     National Bazaar
This is also a small oven in a dirty white color. I wonder if 1300 watts is a good or a bad thing. I was hesitant to buy this due to the brand and its old stock look. The salesman said they still have stocks.

1. Hanabishi
     Price:     P1,750
     Where:     SM Appliances Baguio
The one I purchased and was the last stock. It has the highest price among the three and also the biggest of them. However, it is the cheapest oven if compared to Kyowa and other brands. It is 1000 watts. Other than thermostat control, it has a capacity of 17 liters and 4 heating elements that would allow you to bake, broil, and toast. It is Rossitiere capable so you can use it to roast meat or whole chicken. Yet I know that those functions aren’t really needed in baking polymer clay. Hanabishi is a familiar brand for us Filipinos but I rarely see Hanabishi ovens. I wonder if they’re new in ovens, and if so, they’re still on their way in perfecting it.

Things I Consider When Buying an Oven:
1. Thermostat Control
2. Price
3. Replacement
4. Warranty
5. Brand
6. Design
7. Service Centers

Thing to consider too:

-The size and weight. I was not going to buy yet, but BF said it’s much wiser to buy it now. His point is to make the project working, a step forward. This is the part I fail to consider ahead. I didn’t notice it was big until they packed it in its box. I carried it as far as where the terminal is suited and this made my arms ache the following days. I was thankful it wasn’t as heavy as microwave. I realized that these are the times that being alone have its disadvantage.

I felt as silly and foolish as usual. There was a part when I was walking down to session road and became appreciative in a random kindness given to me by a stranger. There was a middle aged man with his family who saw me carrying my box as the rope slowly loosens. He approached me and fastened the rope himself. T_T Wherever you are sir, thank you…

Papa Jack March 7

“Layuan mo ang mga taong minamahal ka dahil sa iyong kaanyuan…”  Ang sagot ni probinsiyana,  “kung lalayuan mo sila, wala nang matitira” toinkz.

Boyfie and I were listening to Papa Jack and Chico Loco tandem last March 7 Friday.

There are three callers that night. The first one was a guy, binabaan siya ng phone. I was not listening well kasi may ginagawa din ako. I felt disappointed but I’m not sure whose fault is that, if whether yung DJ’s of yung caller. Boyfie said nagmura daw si caller. Initially, quite uncomfortable ako because they’re mocking the caller, parang sobrang binabara and no wonder magmumura talaga yung caller, kung ako yun maiinis din ako. Kaso, it’s their show.

The second caller is a long distance relationship. Her name is Jacky. A person don’t listen talaga noh? They still follow what pleasures them. But it’s really hard to find answers kung hindi mo alam kung ano talaga yung gusto mong malaman. Sometimes umaabot tayo sa point na pinapaubaya nating ang sarili natin sa emosyon natin without even taking consideration kung anong sinasabi ng utak natin. For me, it’s an addiction. It’s being weak and stupid. We cannot detach ourselves because of the main reason “we are afraid of being alone.” Inaalis natin ang self respect natin huwag lang tayong iwan ng taong pinaglaanan natin ng sarili. Are you happy? Do you want to be treated like that? Do you want that guy to be your life’s partner?

Ang gusto ng mga DJ’s natin, maging tough tayo. Pairalin na mature tayo. Bawal mag inarte. Sakit sa bangs nung binabaan din si second caller. She’s not cooperating when Papa Jack required her to say something to his BF.

You cannot change a guy. How much more kung may edad na siya? Once nashare mo saloobin mo sa partner mo and nothing happened, take it or leave it.

Quotes:
Hindi na malambing, matanda na yan…

You cannot be logical about love, once na naexplain mo yan, di na yan love…

Hindi niya pwedeng madaliin yun… (kasal)

You are very special girl

Maarte ka lang

Face reality

Bawat babae ay may kanya kanyang fairy tales ka kanilang utak

Whenever you’re in doubt “no”. Wala dapat bahid ng alinlangan.

Tell me you’re friend are and I don’t care :D

P.S.
Dun sa quotes sa taas, hindi naman ibig sabihin na lalayuan mo lahat. But you have to know who’s real and who’s not and stay with those you find real…
