Protective Cap for USB Port in CD-r King

Protective Cap for USB Port in CD-r King

Does my picture look dark? Let me know
6 pieces

I got curious one day when I saw a typical cardboard with a handwritten advertisement about protective caps for computer slots, ports and etc. So I bought 1 when I finally I came into the store. They don’t have other stocks than for USB Port. It costs around P30.

Why not right? When you can prevent dust to enter into those hubs, to finally get rid of dirty looking parts. However, I was expecting just one pack that includes all those commonly used ports or hubs, not a separate single pack for single part. Then imagine yourself adding P30 to all those parts. 5 x P30 = P150.

There is a word “card 5” in the little cap. When I used it, I find it easy to put in the hub.It glides easily inside.BUT it was a challenge to remove. If you will look closer at the picture, you’ll see the part where you can pull it. I believe the little handle shouldn’t be that smooth so we can pull it easier.

It’s made of typical plastic, sounds like the square part of the board game “scrabble”. Well, I don’t have any more to say. I wonder if it’s better if it’s made of rubber or a mixture of plastic and rubber.

Rate: 0.5/5
-the idea is nice

Repurchase:
No. I wish that it’s an all in one pack kind.

My Smartbro Extends Surf Time

Extended Surfing Time Smartbro Broadband Kit

I am puzzled with my broadband kit. Lately, I only load around P20 instead of availing unlimited promos so I wouldn't be tempted to surf unimportant things and end up with my entire 24 hours wasted in virtual world.

I usually just wanted to surf for 30 minutes. So that would mean it’s just P10. Yet the first 20 minutes is annoying. I notice that there is some unknown downloading in those minutes. Maybe we can just assume it’s the antivirus working in the background. With those minutes, I was just staring in the monitor saying "oh com'on". Then I would have around 5-10 minutes remaining time for my internet to-do-list.

So I ended up consuming another 30 minutes to finish stuffs. That would be a total of P20. The weirdest thing is that I still can use the internet after the supposedly 1 hour allotment. However, I don’t bother myself from testing how long it would last because I hate temptations when things are planned.

These are blessing in system's loophole yet in typical days it’s unfair and a waste of money due to disappointing performance/service. Usually, 30 minutes is a disappointment.

Is this Smart’s way of saying Merry Christmas?

White headset with microphone Class A

These are the kind of posts that I'm not sure if it’s just okay to publish.

Finally I bought a headset with microphone. I wanted to search around and find the cheapest yet decent headset. I also prefer something cute or fair looking one.

I've been glancing at stalls but I seldom find displayed headsets. It’s usually tablet case cover, ipad cover and other touchscreens' plastic container I saw. So I ended up going into this former Nokia known store.

I wanted to go into Cdr king but its two rides away and if ended up buying nothing, this day would become a waste. Besides I visited their website but can’t find a headset with mike unless it’s a headphone. I'll try to ask next time I pass by. I wonder if a headphone would work in a cellphone or a tablet or if it consumes a lot of battery given its huge size. Headset costs around 40 while headphone is 100-200 in Cdr king.

Last time, I came across this Muslim stalls who usually overprice their merchandise. The attendant showed me one of the headsets with microphone and if I’m not mistaken has a volume control. I saw it has crack. Hearing it costs around P200, I got discouraged and moved away. She said that I can "tawad" tough. But I wasn’t in the mood that time.

New headset
The sales lady said they only have replacement. I didn’t even know what she meant. I'm silly, right? That was when I got informed that it was not original. I chose the white one between the two choices of color, the other one is black. I bought it for P180. Bf said he also bought something like this before for 150. The packaging gave an illusion of being real.

No receipt.
Packaging says "Made in China".

How about you? Where did you buy your headset?
How much does an original headset costs?

Cheap Charger, Fake?

So I bought a cheap charger for my cellphone which costs around P150.00. I got no idea how much an original charger costs. In other stalls, they charged it around P350.00, expensive for same poor quality charger. I wonder why they’re over pricing it, especially those sellers who doesn’t give receipts.

While purchasing
I don’t know the name of the stall; I haven’t paid attention to that. However, it was referred to me by my Uncle. It was indeed a ridiculous story. Staffs were not wearing uniform but the place was a bit decent compared to others. The salesman was saying it was original, ho ho. How come a P150 became original? Worst was during the time I was assisted by the saleslady who seemed irritated that they got a buyer. She doesn’t even smile. Wait! The charger was instantly given to me without letting me try it. But I insisted, and it’s not working. Uh-oh. So it was replaced in that very moment.

The charger
It’s not a fast charger. Haven’t caused fire yet. Soon.

Last time.
It’s not actually working properly. Whenever I try to move the charger, it will stop charging, so I have to make sure it is still whenever I’m charging. Since I got no receipts, I can no longer recall how old it is now. Maybe it’s around two months if I would make a wild guess? As far as I can remember, I tried my very best to take care of this charger, but it really proved itself as substandard. Among the entire cheap charger I bought, this one was the worst of them all.

Today?
It’s dead. :(

Am I a fan of cheap products? Lol.

Connecting Fusion Bolt to Computer

I became alarmed when I found in a blog, from one of those who commented, that connecting with PC is not possible or somehow defective. He further added insults in the product like it has a weak customer service. This made me worry "sayang naman". I became quite puzzled like what would be the use of the connector if it will not address that issue.

But that didn't stop me from purchasing this tablet. Really, it made me alarmed when I started plugging the USB connector. It's not connected and worst is that the device manager is not recognized. I got no internet connection in that instant to ask mr.google. So I just resort into the first aid of roaming around the setting and letting my tiny brain think of possible solution in this dilemma.

I almost gave up in the setting icon when suddenly I tried tapping something in the lower right corner of my tab. Tah dah, it made me jump into the window where it asks if I’ll turn on the USB connector. That simple and ridicolously funny. Mission accomplished.

I can't blame him for this part is not well documented in its manual.

For noob and dummies, complaints like that may give hesitations of buying. It may also bring confusion to readers.

You can check my other posts about fusion bolt HERE. This includes my experiences and other related stories.

How I Chose my Tab?

I am noob in gadgets especially when it comes to the rule of the thumb of experts. My reason is much more of an opinion of dummy end user.

To begin with, I’m not a techy person. I don't even have the means to buy latest technologies especially the expensive one but I do have some devices with me such as laptop, camera, desktop, camcorder, printer and the likes.

Here are some things I considered:

Specification
Who wouldn’t want to buy a product that offers nice specs? With nice battery and nice processor.

Battery
I was looking for a tab that will offer a longer time of usage. I'm in the middle of expensive and cheap choices. I'm not afraid of spending a lot but if something cheaper is promising a not that bad performance, who am I to argue?
I’ve been roaming around but only Fushion Bolt gives nice battery spec.

Purpose
This will suit me considering my light purpose of just reading eBook, typing and watching short video clips. I'm not a gamer.

Support Filipino
I’m not a cherry mobile fan, but maybe once in a while I’ll try to support the venture of our kababayan.

Keeping updated
Cheap way in keeping updated with the latest trend. Hindi pahuhuli.

So far hindi naman ako nagsisisi sa tab na to :-)

Lazada Experience

Share your Lazada experience too... Did you have a smooth transaction or a very different kind of story worth sharing? You may link your blog/site related to my blog post with your comment below.

This is a detailed experience of a journey of a gadget purchased online until its arrival into the hands of its owner.

The idea of portability with blogging and reading ebook, and the pleasure and ease of watching videos made me want to have my own tablet too. Also, the experience of trying a local online buying gives the thrill some passionate I.T. would recognize.

Bear with probinsiyana.

Friday afternoon when finally I purchased a tab in their online website. Monday I was hoping it will be delivered. Checking in their website, it was already in transit on weekend. Learning that some got there package early, it made me hope I might get it early too, besides manila is just 8 hours away and LBC delivers my packages early. But this time, it’s not LBC for it was 2GO.

Assuming it will arrive on that day, I hurriedly went home from middle of my work just to leave my authorization letter, payment and an I.D. at home that turned out as a disappointment since it didn't arrive at all.

To make me more pathetic, I waited the whole week but nothing came until the next Saturday went by. It finally arrived around past lunch.

Two guys gave me the package. Unsure if they were in uniform that time. I receive a text message from an unregistered smart number confirming their arrival in front of our house. It was around 9am when they called from my phone, asking about nearby landmarks and that kept me waiting in vain. It was just when I decided I’d better take a nap when they texted "dito na me" x(. I have my first hold of my tablet around 1:50pm.

I asked whether I still needed to present an ID, he said 'kahit hindi na'. I asked why the package is partly opened. He said the letter was inside which was the receiving letter. It makes sense since the pack has cellophane above it for that purpose maybe.

So I signed two papers I didn’t even read sigh. I can think organizely for it was so sudden and I was currently doing some cooking that time.

He offered me to check whether the package is complete which I refuse for we are in the road. He also said that I can return it to him, or maybe he's referring to the courier, if it happen that there is some defect present in the gadget.

No. of days before I receive the item: 8 days

The processing of the product from Lazada going to the courier is fast however the delivery from the courier to the buyer is slow. I wish I know the reason behind. We can assume that they wait for other loads so the shipping will be cost saving in their part.

Updates of tracking using the website is slow. It will take 24 hours but then it was clearly stated from the site.

The packaging
The purchased item was covered with a bubble wrap and finally of the cellophane packing from the courier. The only indication of Lazada's presence was the tape used and the sticker. The whole package was covered with plastic wrap, the same one used in wrapping foods.

The purchased item after delivery
We will never be sure of how was it taken cared during the shipping unless we will be oriented. What if it was compressed badly? Can we really know if the gadget was dropped in the process? Take the risk.

So far, the gadget's fine. Something I noticed was that of the charger's box where it seemed like it was pressed by something heavy above it. But the box of the tablet, which is separate from the charger's, is I believe sturdy enough.

Wish there is a way to track the package through texting just in case there is no internet available. Something like a code you will send from a certain official number.

By the way, I got one missed call around Thursday morning from unregistered globe number. I was in the work that time. I changed my caller profile setting just in case that number will call again, but it didn't. I even texted "Sino po sila" but got no response. This gave me the feeling I 'might' receive the package that time but when I got home, it didn't came. Friday is the same story but I’m getting pissed off. Unfortunately there's no internet connection from the past 3 days. Kahit ako na sanang kumuha kaso hindi ko alam location ng 2GO since lumipat sila. Out of frustration, I texted the same Globe number something like "2GO ba to? I've been waiting for the package" and then I received a message "ano pong name ma'am?". So that's it. The package probably arrived Thursday like what my instinct was saying. However I asked the delivery man about the time of arrival of this package and he said it was Friday. There is confusion in this part or miscommunication.

Side story:
I was so upset the following Friday that I went to mall and played arcade. Good thing my mood became lighter, I won a stuffed toy for the first time.

For buyers like me:
-be consistent in tracking through online
-know the telephone number of the courier
-be sure to know the courier branch location in your place

Reshop?
Yes. Though I had a slight unpleasant experience in my first online shopping experience, I still will try to shop again. :)

A lesson from a 300 peso bill

A funny story or a tragic one. Lmao. Kidding aside, I'm just referring about an ill luck I encounter due to my carelessness. Yeah I know, I’ve been like this since the day of Mokong. I’m not giving careful attention nor do I show concern but hopefully this tiny event will make a difference to my manners.

Okay, what really happened? Nothing grand. I just bought a cheap cellphone battery. Sad to say, it will add up again to the hole of my ulcerated pocket. I don’t have any idea what the heck this battery is, what danger it may impose since it’s not original. However, buying those imitations is still passable in my case sometimes. I haven’t yet encountered any destructive burning. I noticed that the fake one has an almost similar span of life with the original ones like the charger of my laptop and cellphones who used to be destroyed too. Lol. If it is not as good as the original, probably it would be out of the market now? Or perhaps the law enforcer is now strictly implementing whatever they are enforcing.

new battery

The culprit. I used to text while I’m charging which causes the charger’s malfunction too. Since i cannot stand waiting too long I have this habit of halting without making it fully charge. I used to destroy lots of charger in the past, maybe around 4. The fast charger costs around 350php and that’s quite expensive. If my memory will not fail me, I believe I bought my old cellphone’s charger for around 150-250php almost 2 years ago.

I bought this battery in one of the stall but i believe this one is also available in bangketas :D They’re not giving receipts besides I don’t have the courage to ask. :D

The cover gave an imitative look with its glossy appearance. The battery cost 300 pesos (7.33$) that makes me wonder what’s the original price. I found 2 typographical errors at the back description and the rest is quite well. The first time I use the battery it is in its 1 level bar.

back side of the package

To see is to believe. To experience is to believe. And that’s the thrill of life.

This might be a presage for me to.. "Hey take care of your gadgets" a warning...

Lesson I learned:
NEVER NEVER make your battery super drained else the acid will die or you're dead. lol
