Iloko, The flaw, The ridicule.

I dread the idea of hosting another program knowing that I must use our native dialect. Wether it is English or Iloko, or even the most common “Tagalog”, it will present no significant changes on my performance. I wish there’s an emcee training just lurking nearby waiting for me to find. It would be an advantage to professionally know how to handle people (sometimes annoying people) for I wanted to reach out too.

If you do intend to live here, it is said that “it is your responsibility to know how to converse with Iloko” (I was even ignorant back then that I was saying “Ilokano” when I was referring the language). I am not really against the use of Iloko, but someone should realize how to ease up the burden. Some regulation constricts us in our daily lives but will not give us alternatives. If badly implemented, it might hamper the immediate progress that should have taken place.

Education is something should be promoted and everyone should be glad to have. I believe it should be something accessible and as much as possible, free. Instead of corrupting, give that money to students.

I wish someone up will wake up. I will not blame the government but the people governing, well even they change the political system same faces will creep around.

Assuming that it is mandatory, foreign person or call them newcomer, it is their responsibility to know the native dialect. Who will teach them? How about access of information? Is it highly available in the form or books or over the internet, etc.? How committed they are in promoting the Iloko use of language if their apparent way is only by imposing charges.

This makes me wonder if they’re really wanted to preserve what left in this Iloko culture. Are they really promoting and reaching out there best?

Good luck for me this day…

Sophie Martin Summer Pink Lipstick

My sophie lipstick came right after my old lipstick got fully exhausted. It took me a rough estimate of 2 weeks before I got it from the reseller. The saleslady keep on telling me that I’ll have it the other day. Some tale? I almost gave up checking it out.

I got Summer Pink for 85pesos. They were uncertain how to price it since the brochure got lost. They told me that I can avail a 25% discount if I am a member so they gave me a form of Personal Collection to fill. I am reluctant to join since I am oblivious from the pros and cons that comes with it. The PC form alone will give you discounts to all brands they’re part of like avon, sophie and etc. I wonder why…

Smell
It has a mild smell like the powdered milk used by infants

When I looked closely, I saw tiny glittery stuff that I doubt would be obvious once worn. The lipstick is very hard to apply on the lips since it isn’t creamy. It’s very drying that I wanted to put another stuff to moisten my lips but was afraid of ruining the color.

I wanted to even it out but unfortunately, I got dull lips like a smoker. It’s even a bit grayish. Someone even said that I look ill, so I really have to put something on my lips especially if I’m on work. I even wonder if I need a lip concealer or should I bleach or scrub my lips. I still have a lot to know about girl stuff.

I believe summer pink shade doesn’t compliment me well. I might look fair sometimes, but I believe I am warm toned. I got a light yellowish type of skin, not like those of American or Korean type of skin. I even don’t know if it’s just the Spanish blood being dominant or this is really the Filipino skin that I have. This shade will only look good to me once I am outside in a sunny day because that is when I will have the illusion of being cool toned.

Verdict.
This shade doesn’t suit those who have a yellowish complexion. It doesn’t look good to me too since I don’t have a radiant and healthy looking skin. A matte lipstick will look good for a dewy skin while shiny lipstick will look good to a powder finished face.  My dark circles also messed with my face, maybe I need to conceal it so that the focus will be diverted to my eyes .

My slightly gray lips prevented, though slightly, the supposedly bright look of this lipstick on the lips.

I like the shade but it’s not for me. :(

Update: 10-24-13

Though it's not an everyday lipstick, it never became a waste. I mix it up with a darker shade lip gloss. I realized I’m better with gloss than matte alone.

During My 2013 Birthday

When you’re dead frozen in bed doing nothing... and you find yourself too lazy to move… Mesmerized in deep thought but not really thinking. I wonder what’s wrong with me, I’m immobilized. Then I came back into my senses when I took a piece of paper and started writing…

As promised, two worth remembering thing about my birthday includes a supposed-to-be surprise from my BF and my Kuya’s thoughtful short stay.

A SUPPOSED TO BE SURPRISE
I was really surprised but in a different way. BF said he has nothing for my birthday. Genius indeed. It made me sad and disappointed, not that I am looking forward for something big. But reminding me of my upcoming birthday when I actually trying hard not to think about it and worst letting me know exactly how unimportant that day is just a perfect way of ruining everything. (I knew he was trying to save in the first place though). It turned out that he’s just trying to surprise me since he really had something for me. :( It was a bad joke. An epic made by BF. I went a bit trauma. April fools in September. I keep reminding myself he didn’t mean to dishearten me. Hmm.. so should we consider it a surprise?

KUYA’S SHORT STAY
This is something wonderful about Kuya. He made a new tradition of getting home every September. I still feel awkward though. The presence of the person is enough for me to be deeply touched and happy. Then we got dinner but I wasn’t able to taste the cake he brought from where he came from. Naubos agad.

NIGHTMARE
I don’t like parties. I felt sort of harassed and caught off guard. Not that I don’t like gathering, I just felt its not the right time nor the right place. It seemed that nobody really had much fun that day or maybe I’m the only one. A real party should be something where everyone is entertained and happy…

Happy Birthday… Happy Broke… 2013

I’m not expecting much about my birthday, since it’s the way it used to be.  Never had a birthday party where friend were invited and the likes. I don’t even have a visitor during my graduation party, worst is that I spent my own money against my will. I never expected that the nightmare would revisit me once again… and on my birthday… against my will.

I DON’T LIKE PARTIES!!!... party for my birthday… and I don’t wanna change it.

A simple meal with family will do… or friends. I want a quality time, as much as possible avoid luxuries. It would be happier to be around sensible people and not because we have to be wary about how other people think of us or to just show off. It’s just that sometimes people meddle and eventually it spoils the fun.

These are just some of the things that kept me busy these past few days.
-attending training and facilitating programs
-dance practice
-sleepyhead (body demands)
-reading eBooks (harry potter series, currently in Goblet of Fire)

I got lot of draft articles yet I can’t find time to finalize it. I hope it would not rain so as not to interfere in my plans, as if I really have. I’ve been taking some pictures but still fail to upload it on my blog.

What’s new?
I got a puppy though I still haven’t touched it. It’s still aloof and afraid of me. My askal puppy is pure white with pink nose. When it was few weeks old, it reminded me of a hamster/rabbit.  I also wanted the other puppy with a peach fur that sometimes reminds me of limestone’s shade but it was sold already.

Memoir of my 2013 birthday – to follow
