White Rain with Coconut Extracts Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Close shot of White Rain Shampoo and Conditioner

There are times that we buy products from someone we know (friends, family, acquaintance etc.) not because we like it but for us to show our support in their effort to find an extra source of living. It can be a waste of money in our behalf if it simply doesn’t suit our needs and personality or the product works unsatisfactorily. Nevertheless, I will still try to be sensible and live in the middle of “a friend who can be counted” and “a person who is practical”.

So this product is an example of the above case. Maybe it doesn’t hurt to buy a huge bottle of shampoo and conditioner since we use these kinds of products daily. I love Coconut and these products have the real sweet scent of Coconut.

It’s cheaper if you’ll buy this in the store though. I am expecting a lot from this since it came from another country but I realized that the cheap price makes sense in regards to its quality. Its unfailing presence in market makes me wonder what good does other consumers find in this product.

The coconut made me assume that both will be nourishing to the hair and scalp, but it’s not. Despite its huge bottle, these products don’t last long. The formula will make you use an amount that is 2 to 3 times bigger than the regular amount with your ordinary hair care product.

SHAMPOO

This shampoo is a pale liquid with shiny pearl-like particles. It’s a strange shampoo as it lathers and nothing more. It just cleanses or maybe just strips the unwanted oil in the hair. It doesn’t moisturize the hair (some shampoo does). It’s so plain that it’s also dull. It may work for the hair but it’s a no-no for the scalp. It makes the scalp dry, flaky and occasionally itchy.

I know when to stop or when my old shampoo has done its job of thoroughly cleaning the hair but this White Rain shampoo makes it hard to determine when to stop lathering. I still don’t feel clean even after using it 3 times but since I don’t want to overdo it, I just use it twice.

Cons:
  • Increase of hair fall.
  • Flaky scalp that needs hot oil.
  • Very prone to static.
  • Only through using half of the product that your hair and scalp will adjust to this formulation.

Despite the cons of this shampoo, my hair is not prone to breakage and it's not fly-away. The hair looks fine (just don't look at your scalp). If you are using a volumizing shampoo before, expect some adjustment here for it will make the hair lighweight. I attempted to add moisture by using Vitress and Pantene Hair Serum but it made it more untidy. Can you believe that?

Lesson Learned:
I've learned importance of a moisturizing conditioner to prevent static energy and frizzy hair. The friction disturbs the electrons. Since the stray electrons has nowhere to go, the hair strands repels each other. The moisturizer lessens the friction and also absorbs the electrons. Same applies with the air we breathe. If you are in an air-conditioned room where the moisture in air is minimal, expect static in the hair.

CONDITIONER

The conditioner is not moisturizing. It only detangles the hair. It doesn't make the hair smooth and soft. It looks just fine but nothing grand. I seldom comb my hair when using this. Doing so will make the hair frizzy and buhaghag. I noticed that it works better when used with slightly warm water.

    1. Yup. But you can find it in the mall. Saw it near the Dial stuffs. Kaya nga sis eh, coconut is moisturizing naman but most of the products with coconut doesn't work that way. Only few does.
