Syoss Moisture Keratin Shampoo Review

I bought this with Loreal Anti-Freeze Conditioner thinking it was a conditioner too. To my surprise, it was a shampoo. Oh well I didn’t look at the bottle properly. It’s a bit confusing since Syoss bottle (for conditioner and shampoo) is the same, the only difference is the color. Maybe if the label is given a strong emphasis, like a huge letter or red font color, there’s a strong possibility that it will catch my attention.

I’ve used Tresseme even before it has been advertised in the television since my aunt from other country used to send us different products. Syoss looks the same with the concept of bottle container and color coding and most of all the keratin stuff. I took a bottle to try if it works the same. I picked the wrong variant though…

Nivea In-Shower Whitening Body Lotion Review

Nivea In-Shower Whitening Skin Conditioner Body Lotion

For Dull Skin
Radiant, soft skin feeling
50x Vitamin C

Using lotion while in the shower is now possible through this new Nivea Body Lotion. Wouldn't that be great to put a lotion right after you have taken your bath?

This is still a lotion and doesn't replace your regular shower gel when it comes to cleansing, what makes it different to your old lotions is that you have to rinse it off, allowing the right amount of lotion to be left on your skin.

Texture/Smell

The smell reminds me of strong baby powder and the facial moisturizer of Myra E. The scent stays until the end of the day. The shine of the lotion looks a bit blurry while the oiliness becomes apparent once you rub it. It doesn't set well so you really have to rinse it with water to unleash the oily-like conditioner. It is a slippery as the usual shower gel but once it dries it leaves the skin a light and well moisturized state. It feels like you have just put a body oil on your skin that isn't heavy but long lasting and very effective. You will feel well hydrated while your skin takes a break by making your skin breathe for the first time.

H2O Cleansing Water Sample Review

Oil-free marine hydration
Cleansing water

Effectively dissolves surface impurities

Though it was only a sample, I am okay with the size. Perhaps it would only last for 2 weeks because of the consistency. The packaging is decent plus it has a control mechanism. The color could really remind someone of marine. The list of ingredients is not included. (I wish they did!) It will definitely give an idea if you have an allergy in the ingredients prior the usage.

Expiration Date:   not included

Price:   P 1,260 in 200ml

H2O Cleansing Water Sample Review

Smell/Texture

The smell reminds me of Lactacyd with a hint of citrus while the consistency makes me think of dishwashing liquid sachet mixed in 1 litre of water. It is not in a gel form either. It's to watery for that. It lathers quite a bit yet enough to clean and soften the face. At first I doubt it could remove the day's dirt but still it did. It's a gentle cleanser.

Make Your Own Home Made Beauty Recipes

I am smitten into anything organic and natural. I always wanted to try the old ways. You can experiment without getting afraid of over indulging into different harsh chemicals. But it is also a hard task finding the right recipe and matching it to the type of skin we have.

Cleopatra has her own beauty secrets, how else could she seduce Mark? Unfortunately, the recipe didn’t survive to reach our time. And before the dawn of modern medicines, home remedies are used as a treatment or cure. Their beauty products came from plants and herbs that sometimes can be found in their own backyards. It is in natural form unlike the products that we use now that has preservative like paraben. How else could those products reach its 2-3 years of shelf life if it doesn’t have preservatives?

We have to lessen getting acquainted into chemicals and those chemicals used to gather them and be kind to Mother Earth once again.

Kojie San Skin Lightening Soap Review

This is my favorite soap. I’ve been using this since last mid-year. I started on my face and then soon in both face and body. I believe this is the most effective whitening soap I’d ever use. I heard my friends saying I gotten whiter. Comparing it to the past though, I have lesser time and money for beauty products and I was studying that I can’t easily get rid of the sun so maybe it’s one factor.

Don’t use whitening soap if you’re always under direct hit of the sun

Kojie San Skin Lightening Soap
Where to Buy: Watsons or Mercury Drugstore

I can’t completely recall why I bought this but I remember I was inspired from this one blogger who slowly exposed herself in changes. And also, I finally became conscious of the tiny bumps in my forehead. It doesn’t really look like a typical pimple and it’s not even itchy like an allergy. Still I believe it’s an allergy, perhaps in dust, and I had that since high school. I wanted to resort in dermatologists but trying different product won’t hurt for me.

The bumps slowly vanished within 7 days. Yet it comes back when I forgot to wash my face or I was exposed in too much dust. But come to think of it, if you only use it on your face the tendency will you will have a very white face that doesn’t compliment your body. So better use it both to face and body.

What is kojic acid?
Kojic acid is a by-product in the fermentation process of malting rice, for use in the manufacturing of sake, the Japanese rice wine. ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kojic_acid

Likes
-Helps combat tiny bumps in forehead
-Still lathers generously despite the small size
-There are times that I don’t need to put powder on my face because of this soap.
-Quickest lightening soap.

Dislikes
-It melts easily

Kojie Soap Instruction and Ingredients

I have an oily face, or mild oily if there’s such thing. Sometimes I don’t use moisturizer after this. I use Myra E in my face as moisturizer. I experienced stinging too when I stayed it on my face for a minute or more. It even frightened me. Eventually, my face had gotten used to it and I don’t experience itchiness now.

Tipid Tips
-Attach the small pieces of your Kojie San soap with the larger one.
-Price / Grams. Know which is cheaper by dividing the Price to Grams.
-Leave the soap in your skin for 2-3 minutes to really whiten your skin.
-The 3 bar is cheaper or if you want the cheapest, buy the biggest box.
-You can cut the soap into half.

Sometimes, after using this soap, I felt like super ghostly white as if I was soaked in white vinegar.

Gatsby Powdered Oil Clear Paper Review

Gatsby Powdered Oil Clear Paper in package

I bought this during one of my past trip in Baguio. Since it was ages ago (maybe just last year), I can’t recall the urgent situation that pushed me to buy a blotting paper aside from the curiosity that it’s powdered.

I want to try clean and clear blotting paper but it’s expensive and I was unsure if it is powdered. Way back high school, I bought a pink blotting paper of a brand I didn’t mind to remember. It’s thin as onion skin and smooth and almost the same as this except that it’s non-powder (and very thin). I was initially doubtful if whether it does sip the oil. It did but not entirely, and didn’t repurchase for I cannot find the point of using it before. The oil may be lesser but my face still looks oily and still tends to get oily unless I will use a loose powder. Why waste money?

gatsby oil blotting sheets review

Expiration Date

Since I am usually in an air-conditioned room now, I still haven’t experienced using this on my most demanding days. But just in case I will be, I’d rather use a baby powder for faster finish. In work days, my typical usage is 2 sheets or lesser of this. I usually cut a sheet into half since it's enough.

Instruction and ingredients

It have a mild powdery smell. The lighter side is where the powder is. The sheet is as thin as carbon paper. Maybe the gray color is intentional to easily see the absorbed oil. However, you have to turn it against the light to see.

Where to Buy: Watsons
Price:

Look at the two boxes and see what happens when you pick one sheet.

PROS:
-Instant powder for face
-It is more hygienic than using a loose powder with your hands.
-A sheet has enough coverage compared to a loose powder.
-It’s more handy and decent to use in special occasions like graduation and the likes.
-It can be a nice alternative for press powder.

DISLIKES:
-Even though it’s handy, it’s still quite embarrassing to use around people.
-It last like normal loose powder and it doesn’t have antiperspirant properties. You aren’t fighting it, but just preventing it for a while.
-The oil is not entirely absorbed
-There is some heavy feeling due to the left oil that hasn't been removed. There are times I even want to wash my face.

Repurchase?
No or Yes. I want to try the non-paper blotting sheets (the film/plastic types) and compare which is better.

Vaseline healthy white SPF 24 triple lightening lotion review

Helps keep you fair & even toned under the sun.

-SPF24: Protects your skin from getting burnt by UVB rays
-PA++: Prevents skin from becoming dark, uneven and blemished due to UVA rays
-Vitamin B: Makes skin fair

Vaseline healthy white SPF 24 triple lightening lotion review

Direction for use: use twice a day for best results. Apply thoroughly to avoid produce rubbing off on clothes.
Warnings: 1) do not stay too long in the sun, even while using a product with sunscreen 2) store product away from sunlight 3) in the unlikely event of skin irritation, stop using and consult a doctor immediately.

Since I became fond of the green Vaseline, I tried another variety of it. I was very disappointed with the effect. I have learned that not every product of certain brand would suit one person. Different variety means different person.

This is not a moisturizing lotion for me. It feels dry in the skin and I’m not using it several times a day. I'm afraid that I’m putting so much unnecessary chemicals in my skin when in fact, I really don’t need. So, I use it only once or if the occasion needs it. When I knew I’m going to be walking under the sun, that's when I start to apply.

The smell really lasts long. In the second day of using this, I noticed that some of my dry skin is shedding off. I wonder if it exfoliates. After a week, my skin got many tiny bumps. I don't know if it resembles something like "bungang-araw". At this point, I have this acceptance that this is not my everyday kind of lotion. I would somehow survive in using this daily if I can wash this off in my skin every night. But that's too lazy for me to do.

Does it whiten?
I really cannot say so. I cannot persevere enough to judge it. The use of this for me is just for avoidance of harmful rays of the sun. I admit I initially became attracted to this because of the idea of whitening plus protection from Sun. Anyways, according to the bottle, it lightens, not really the word whitens.

-Maybe I’ll still be using this if I’ll be going to beach.

Repurchase?
-So far NO. Yes if I’ll be needing it.

BAIES SUCREES sweet berries deep moisturizing lotion Review

with Vitamin E & Aloe

Sweet Berries body lotion contains a non-greasy formula with Aloe Vera extracts and Vitamin E to help hydrate you skin leaving it soft and smooth all day.

This lotion is an advance Christmas gift of my brother, something he bought in Watsons. It was on sale and cost around P200 above. This was just a guess because I didn’t saw the price tag. I find the packaging very cute. This lotion comes with a hand lotion and a body scrub.

The bottle of the lotion is very big. Because it’s heavy, it’s a hassle for me to get the lotion out from it. It smells sweet and looks mild and quite plain. The smell reminds me of candy. It’s not heavy to use and I don’t believe its deep moisturizing. Just enough to remove the skin dryness that follows after bath.

I like to use it frequently. If only it’s small, I will bring these in work. I doubt if the smell of lotion would linger long. I don’t take time to test though.

I don’t mind the absence of SPF. Besides, back in old days, people were not really using SPFs. But I will still use SPF if I will be flaunting directly in the sun. I don’t like the feel of thick SPF lotion in my skin. And also, I gave up the obsession of having a radiant looking skin. I know I’ll never will. But with the use of Kojie San soap in my skin, I really don’t get picky with the kind of lotion I will be using after.

This may not meet your expectation but it’s enough for my skin basic needs.

Manufactured in PRC. Do you know what this means?

Dislikes:
-I cannot find the expiry date in the bottle
-I wonder if this is dermatologist tested.

Rate: 4/5
-a plus factor from being cute. :)

Repurchase?
-It’s a YES and a NO. Yes because I like it and if I can still find some. No because I may be buying something or just waiting someone to give me some.

Vaseline Aloe Fresh Review

I need to rewrite again since my draft got corrupted in my tablet after saving it on the external micro SD card. So to be safe, I’ll no longer save unless it's internal.

This is my first review on lotions, and my first purchase of Vaseline in a bottle. Last time I bought one was way back high school and a sachet variant. I didn’t like the smell back then; it reminds me of medicines as well as plastic.

What I have here is Vaseline Aloe fresh, total moisture. A 24 hour nourishing lotion for fresh and light feeling skin. I just saw this one from a blogger and said to myself that it will not hurt to try. Besides, I’m getting bored using the same Silka lotion while wondering if that's really makes me fairer.

Aloe Vera
Our grandma has stories about herbs and plants, and this is just one of the unforgettable. Maybe I had tried putting it on my face for reasons I can’t remember (courisity maybe). However, if there's something aloe vera is famous of, it is its ability to thicken hair. Something helpful for hairloss sufferers, but that's only a story from lola.

Imagine putting the lotion on your legs and arms... and your hair will grow longer,... and for those who shave their legs, imagine the effect it would bring.

Vaseline Lotion claims that it's:
-hydrating
-absorbs quickly
-glowing skin
-24 hr nourishing
-light feeling skin

Price:

The Cap
If you're bag tends to be messy, it 'might' open accidentally and lotions will be all over your things. I'm partly having a hard time taking the lotion out.

Best before 30 months from manufacturing date. Unfortunately, I cannot find the manufacturing date except the 7 digit code at the bottom of the bottle. 1303132. But I can't figure out how to read that code so maybe I’d just guess. March 13, 2013 and 2 years.

Deep down layers of skin*... and there’s an asterisk below which is "Stratum corneum." Wikipedia says that: The stratum corneum is the outermost layer of the epidermis, consisting of dead cells (corneocytes) that lack nuclei and organelles.

Ingredients
There is Methylparaben and Propylparaben included in the ingredients. I’m not a chemist but I wish to be informed about parabens. Parabens are said to have been found in the breast of cancer patients. I also purchased a Myra E lotion and it’s fascinating to know that it doesn’t have a paraben on it, but I don’t like that lotion. I encourage you to read articles in Wikipedia and other sites about Methylparaben and Propylparaben and become a conscious and responsible buyer.

Likes:
-I like the smell
-I like the color of the bottle. It attracts me.

Dislikes:
-I am in an air-conditioned room during work days and I usually feel my skin dry.
-It has no spf (but I’m pondering these days if I really need one)
-Costs more than the Silka Lotion
-A bottle doesn’t last long because I use it frequently

Rate:

-because Silka is cheaper

Repurchase?
I thought of “No” last time but I found myself buying my next bottle. I like how it feels so light on my skin even I reapply it many times.

I wish to find another alternative lotion that is light in the skin. Cold and hydrating.
