Olay Whitening Papaya Soap Review

Olay Natural White
Healthy Fairness with Papaya Extract

There is this myth that papaya is a food aphrodisiac and has the ability to make the bowel soft. This and the inconsistent sweetness dissuades me from eating ripe papaya unless it’s still young and crunchy with vinegar to dip in.

Back when Papaya is the only trending skin whitener, avoidance of using such product when under the sun is a common belief. So how about when we eat papaya, does it whiten our stomach too? Should we eat papaya in moderation? Among all whitening ingredients though, Papaya is still the most popular and leading whitening agent and hopefully gentler than the products that followed it.

How it works!

Papain is used as meat tenderizer for its ability to break down protein fibers. It is the enzyme that makes the skin whiter through exfoliation and softening the skin. Out of ignorance, I thought it works like what bleach does. I even considered it as one of the gentlest way to whiten the skin only to find out later that it aids in loosening the dead skin cells to reveal a newer and lighter skin (hopefully my skin would not get thinner). No wonder it doesn’t make my skin lighter than my original skin color. It only just keeps it from getting darker. Better pair this with SPF lotions in case of sun exposure.

This is just the time I realized how papaya product works. When buying, you should at least look on ingredients to know if it's the best product that suits your skin needs and learn also of how it works along with advantage and disadvantage that comes with it. This will also prevent you from buying and pairing it to another incompatible products.

Olay Papaya Bar Soap | Observations

Though it does look good in the commercial, I hesitated to buy this on supermarket because of the unattractive packaging. There are aslo other Olay soap variants such as with Shea Butter, Vitamin C etc.
  • A bit sour than the other brands but generally smells just the same
  • The scent doesn't cling on the skin.
  • There is slight dryness as it made me want to grab my lotion instantly to moisturize.
  • There's no stinging sensation
  • Doesn't melt quickly
  • The whitening doesn't work instantly

When did fruits failed on giving us both inner and outer beauty? Eating the fruit and its application on the skin will benefit us. Maybe I need to eat papaya next time for healthy digestion and internal detoxification. There are also other ingredients to choose from. Each works differently to whiten the skin. So the next time you buy, you will not wonder why it makes your skin dry, or there is a stinging sensation and micro peeling (when in fact that's how it works). You'll know what to expect!
