Cetaphil Cleanser for All Skin Types Review

Gentle skin cleanser for all skin types
Mild, non-irritating formula
Softens as it cleans

And here I am, jumping into the bandwagon as always. There's a lot of good reviews about Cetaphil for being a mild cleanser. Even my best friend is curious of the product. So I bought this a month or months ago.

Cetaphil is not only for the face but all the skin throughout the body. It can be used even without the presence of water and claims fine for babies to use. It also has a variant for oily type of the skin.

Ingredients:
Water, cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearyl alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben.

  • Soothing, non-irritating cleanser ideal for face, hands and body
  • Helps skin retain needed moisture
  • Rinses easily and leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and healthy
  • Mild enough to cleanse a baby's delicate skin

Non-comodogenic
Fragrance free
pH Balanced

Review of Cetaphil Cleanser for All Skin Types

Some Irony

They say it's gentle when it actually consists of alcohols, parabens and even SLS. Correct me if I am wrong, I don't feel that it's natural or organic at all. Not that the brand claim it is. It's just so popular and widely recommended (even by dermatologists) for being mild. Maybe its just plainer than other commercial cleansers.

Smell/Texture

Are you familiar with gawgaw? Cornstarch can be used as a paste. Just add water and cornstarch and cook it in a low fire. The Cetaphil smells like that. The consistency is similar to a soup. It doesn't lather even in the presence of SLS. SLS is the ingredient that makes shampoo and other similar products to foam.

A Thought and Review

The whole bottle consumption didn't give my skin some spectacular improvements. My face is still the same and with pimples. For those endowed with baby-like and supple skin, this will do for cleansing purposes. For those who want to achieve something such as smooth, fair, pimple free and lighter face, they should opt for different product. And remember that if you use a set which consists of different brands, the ingredient might conflict with each other... too much alcohol... to much exfoliation... et cetera.

The Home Remedies Handbook recommending Cetaphil
Under the Cetaphil is the Home Remedy book I used to read. This book is as old as I am and it recommends mild cleanser such as Cetaphil and Dove

Likes
- It is comfortable to use around the delicate skin of the eyes.
- It works well with skin irritation in the ears and nose lid.
- Expiration date and manufactured date is well printed.

Dislikes
- The shine it leaves in the skin after a wash.
- Cannot remove some kinds of dirt.
- There isn't a squeaky clean feeling.
- Some part of the product stays in the face.
- Feels warm to use.

Repurchase?
No. It's just that the product isn't what I am looking for.
But yes. If I miss the product.

Recommend?
Yes. There's no harm in trying. You might like the product.

  1. It's too bad this product didn't work so well for you. I have tried the moisturizer by this brand and wasn't too impressed either. I'm also not a huge fan of the ingredients this cleanser contains. That said, I know a lot of people who really love this brand so i guess like you said it works for some people and not for others.

    1. Thanks for dropping by ^_^. Still I want to try the other variant for oily type and their bar soap too. There's a lot of good impression from forumns about this product that's why I've tried it.
